ABOUT ME
My name is David Gilbert, and I have been a Mental Health Professional for over 20 years. Like many of you, I have witnessed the health system deteriorate over time. Research consistently shows that with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) have a mortality rate 15-25 years lower than the average, with this gap continuing to widen. This project is grounded in the belief that Mental Health Professionals in Micro/Mezzo settings possess a strong understanding of the daily barriers faced by their clients and communities. I look forward to collaborating with all of you so we can begin the process in righting this ship!
STATEMENT OF INTENT
MAP to SMI Solutions' intent is to empower mental health professionals and individuals with symptoms of serious mental illness (SMI) by providing tools, knowledge, and pathways to advocate for meaningful change in the mental health system. By harnessing our collective experience and expertise, we strive to bridge the gap between policy-makers and practitioners, creating better outcomes for those living with SMI.
